June Rideout

A healthy turnout of nine riders turned out with a number of new riders comprising of Nick Blyton from Cotmore House, John & Carol Reader, Adrian & Janie Thwaites, Linda and Bernie Stuart from Crosslands, John Fargin and Peter Silver for a genteel ride through the neighbouring villages of Hethe, Hardwick, Stoke Lyne and onto Stratton Audley where the group stopped for tea and cakes at The West Barn.

The weather was excellent, even though blustery, which was a relief to offset the heat from the sun during the ride.  After a suitable break at West Barn the group then headed off to Marsh Gibbon turning left up to Poundon and carried on, passing Goddington on the right before heading back to the Butchers Arms for further refreshment.

The ride lasted approximately 2 hours and covered a distance of 16.2 miles at a leisurely pace of around 10mph
